Purpose of the role
Colas Ltd. have a great opportunity for a Compliance Administrator to join the team based in Portsmouth, PO6 1TA. Reporting to the Senior Permit Office, you will ensure all permits are reviewed and co-ordinated and managed accurately and efficiently to preserve the free flow of the Highway network. To analyse and deal with permit applications accurately and efficiently within the agreed timescales and in line with national conditions
Main Responsibilities
As a Compliance Administrator your key objective will be to carry out compliance inspections for all promoters of works working on the Portsmouth network. Authorising and setting permit conditions, processing requests, monitoring works within the permitting system, liaising with third parties and providing performance reporting data. You will be responsible for deciding on the appropriate use of statutory controls for minimising disruption, including directions for controlling works timing, challenges of works duration and assignment of specific conditions to permits, including issuing FPN’s and S74 overrun charges whilst on site. You will liaise closely across the Network Management Team, to ensure informed and effective coordination of all works. Your role will involve being responsible for monitoring (including site visits) day-to-day works promoter compliance and performance, identifying, and resolving non-compliances and performance issues and reporting on significant or ongoing issues to the Senior Permit Officer. To ensure compliance with Company administrative procedures and the Company’s Quality Assurance procedures. You will be willing to work out of hours as appropriate. To deliver the service effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed, and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties, however, will fall within the scope of the post.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a GCSE Grade C and over. You will have a experience within an administrative background. It is essential you will have numerate and computer literate with MS Office experience, especially Word, Excel and Outlook and experience of successfully working to targets and tight deadlines. You will have good organisational skills along with great attention to detail. It is important you have the passion and drive to learn about the industry and grow within the role.
