The Compliance team for Affirm UK is growing. As Affirm grows and scales, we are looking at further hires directly into the UK Compliance team to support our growth plans. As a Compliance Analyst in the Compliance team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of consumer financial services, assuring Compliance, and advising across the firm. The Compliance team is on a mission is to support the firm in delivering on its key objectives whilst ensuring good outcomes for customers. This is achieved by being a pivotal player across the organisation, delivering key stakeholder and department advice, and ensuring excellent relationships with our external partners. What you’ll do
Working closely with the Compliance Director and Compliance team to optimise Affirm's offerings by supporting all compliance tasks that occur.
Take ownership of the firm's regulatory compliance reporting portal, understanding the reporting requirements upon the firm, and how to manage, input, record and collate that data.
Take ownership of the firm's regulatory compliance application portal, understanding the application process for applications the firm may wish to make. Manage, input, record and collate that data.
Provide the Compliance Director and relevant other colleagues with timely updates on any application or reporting obligation.
Identify where any anomalies in reporting or applications may exist within the processing, and direct requests to ensure timely resolution.
Assist with identifying and reporting on sources of data to support the firm's completion of regulatory returns within the required timeframes.
Take ownership and manage the day to day oversight of the firm's Appointed Representative (AR) framework, assist where required with conducting including initial due diligence on prospective merchants, undertaking onboarding checks, in life oversight, amendments and termination.
Support in the design of and operationalising the firms in life Appointed Representative (AR) review programme.
Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards, capturing the review using the firm's record keeping system.
Work cross-functionally with departments such as Legal, Risk, Marketing and Product to complete reviews and address compliance.
Support in the development and maintaining of compliance training and reference materials and make suggestions for improvement.
Assist with the creation and input to a Horizon scanning process which actively monitors the regulatory and financial crime landscape, considering whether emerging or current changes may impact the market within which Affirm operates. Capture this information and suggest next steps in preparation of the firm's horizon scanning document. Capture key goals and actions and monitor these through the firm's Governance channels to finalisation.
What we look for:
Minimum 2+ years of professional work experience blended across compliance advisory, compliance monitoring in a consumer credit firm, ideally working within a BNPL firm.Experience of working in a UK regulated environment, ideally a consumer credit Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), consumer credit lender or equivalent.
Keen and willing to grow knowledge and skill in a Consumer Credit firm, ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while delivering detailed and diligent work.
Serve as a Compliance representative / advisor on regulatory compliance matters considering as it applies to new and revised financial products and the market within which Affirm operates.
Deliver working level knowledge of the latest regulatory changes, to include, but not limited to, Consumer Duty, The Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR) and the Appointed Representatives regime.
The ability to apply the knowledge in the context of the products and services being offered by Affirm, the market within which the firm operates and the firm's goals/aspirations.
Working knowledge of using FCA regulatory reporting systems, such as Connect and Reg Data is a must.
Experience working in a fast-paced office and remote working environment.
Experience advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups on compliance matters.
A strong interest in fintech and consumer financial protections.
Inquisitive and proactive in identifying problems and proposing creative solutions and ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a self-directed environment with excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.
Outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to clearly present complex and contentious issues.

Equity Grade - UK 2
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).
GBR base pay range per year: £53,000 - 63,000
