While the position offers flexible work arrangements, candidates should reside within commuting distance of our corporate offices in Boston, MA, Kansas City, MO, Washington, DC or Chicago, IL for occasional in-person meetings. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Auditor will be asked to perform the following:  Review Initial, Move-In, and Annual certifications for accuracy and completeness. Work with Compliance Team to identify and resolve events of non-compliance Record  and maintain accurate up-to-date status of findings Strong knowledge of Section 8, LIHTC and Home programs Ability to work with minimal direction Detail oriented and highly organized Remain familiar with all updates and changes in affordable housing programs Remain current on company technology Complete projects and assignments by determining priorities, managing time, gaining cooperation of others and monitoring progress Maintain proper confidentiality when handling sensitive matters Complete other related tasks as assigned   Qualifications
Qualified candidates will fulfill the following requirements: Five years’ experience reviewing/auditing affordable housing tenant files Bachelor’s Degree and certified as a Tax Credit Specialist and/or Certified Occupancy Specialist certification required; Blended Occupancy Specialist certification preferred. High level of property management expertise, analytical ability and financial acumen. Solid verbal, written and customer service communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite. Strong analytical and mathematical skills as it relates to calculating lease balances, move-in costs, analyzing leases, identifying discrepancies on invoices and pro-rating leases. Confidence in creating effective solutions for how to deal with challenges or problems.  Familiarity with Yardi software or similar property management, real estate software preferred. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to: senior staff, site teams, residents, community partners, and vendors   OTHER:  Experience:  At least 4 year(s) preferred.   BENEFITS AT POAH COMMUNITIES At POAH Communities, we prioritize the well-being of our employees and their families.
