Compliance - Banking Regulatory Lead - Vice President

Job Summary

As a Banking Regulatory Compliance Lead within the Risk Management and Compliance division, you will lead the firmwide oversight and implementation of the Compliance framework focusing on key banking regulations. You will partner effectively with line of business and corporate function compliance officers, as well as stakeholders in Legal, Finance, Risk, Controls, and Businesses. This position requires strong knowledge of U.S. banking laws and regulations, and the ability to lead the execution and enhancement of a compliance program. Job Responsibilities

Lead the enhancement and execution of the Compliance Conduct and Operational Risk framework focusing on firmwide oversight of key banking regulations.Develop a strategic coverage model for compliance with key banking regulations focused on safety and soundness across lines of business and corporate functions.Participate in forums and working groups focused on bank governance and key bank regulations.Prepare reporting for key governance forums, committees, and boards.Provide strategic input into preparation for regulatory examinations by U.S. Prudential Regulators, including the FRB, OCC, and FDIC.Participate in the compliance risk assessment process, providing input and challenge as it relates to risks related to key U.S. banking regulations.Engage in test planning and oversight as part of the firm’s monitoring and testing program, ensuring coverage of relevant banking laws, rules, and regulations.Evaluate existing policies, standards, and procedures to identify gaps and improvements, and develop policies and standards as needed.Support the development of education and training as needed.Participate in business processes, including new business initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and other material programs to provide input and challenge regarding compliance with key U.S. banking laws, rules, and regulations. Work closely with compliance partners to understand the impact of federal regulations on different parts of the business and communicate these impacts effectively.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

7+ years of experience in the financial services industry in areas such as compliance, law, controls, or audit.Strong knowledge of U.S. banking laws and regulations.High degree of initiative, self-direction, and ability to work well under pressure.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft executive-level content in a clear and concise way.Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build strong partnerships, collaborate, influence, and drive outcomes.Intellectual curiosity with a proven ability to learn quickly.Strong data analytics and Excel skills, with the ability to review and digest complex content and data, analyze, and draw conclusions.Strong organizational skills; able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.Law degree or significant experience with banking regulations.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Experience working for a U.S. banking regulator.Law firm experience focusing on banking law.Experience working in a the compliance department of a financial institution focusing on banking regulatory compliance.
