This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a Compliance Investigator 1-3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

FUNCTION OF WORK :
Conducts investigations on violations regarding Board/Agency policies, state and federal statutes, Civil Service rules, licensure and/or ethics.
LEVEL OF WORK :
Entry.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED :
Direct from a Compliance Investigator 4-B, Executive Director or higher-level administrator.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED :
None.
LOCATION OF WORK :
May be used by all state agencies.
JOB DISTINCTIONS :
Differs from law enforcement investigators by emphasis on administrative rather than criminal investigations.
Differs from Compliance Investigator 2 by performing entry-level compliance investigations.
Differs from Compliance Investigator 4-B by absence of supervision duties.
Examples of Work
Conducts thorough and complete investigation into alleged violations of Contractors' Licensing law.
Prepares complete, court worthy reports, including supporting evidentiary documents/items.
Complies exhibit packages on violations to be presented at Board hearings.
Appears before the Board or in court to testify.
Educates unlicensed contractors, members of the public, on the processes and requirements of obtaining a license.
