Compliance Manager - 12 Month FTC

Syndicate 2019 reinsures a share of AIG’s US private client business. How you will make an impact + Act as an SME within the Compliance team, providing compliance advice to the business on all matters relating to Talbot Underwriting Ltd and related group entities. + Be seen as a collaborative trusted advisor supporting the business in satisfying compliance requirements. + As a senior member of the team, actively contribute to thinking strategically about where and how compliance risks may arise + Supporting the CCO in designing, implementing, advising on and/or reporting on, appropriate systems, controls, policies and procedures to manage compliance risks. + Understand the implications of PRA, FCA and Lloyd’s regulations and any regulations imposed by any other relevant regulatory authority for Talbot Underwriting Ltd and related group entities. Escalate relevant regulatory risks and make recommendations for changes in procedures to the CCO. + Assist the CCO and the Compliance team in maintaining and embedding of existing compliance owned policies and procedures. + Support the CCO in designing, the successful delivery of and reporting on the Annual Compliance Plan. + Support the CCO in designing, conducting and reporting on appropriate assurance work to monitor compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards. + Working on or overseeing regular regulatory reporting and liaison such as Lloyd’s Principles for Business, complaints reporting and contextualisation, PRA / FCA Reviews, Lloyd’s thematic and other reviews, and MAS filings. + Ensuring appropriate processes are in place for the team to liaise with the Financial Crime Group and AIG UK legal to monitor sanctions developments and their application to the business, and providing advice to the business on specific sanctions issues. + Understanding international compliance requirements for Talbot Underwriting Ltd and group entities in the jurisdictions in which they do business and providing advice and support to the business on such requirements and any required local regulatory submissions. + To assist the CCO generally in the efficient running and management of the department and optimisation of Compliance function processes and activities. + Reporting to, and participating as appropriate in, internal committees and working groups. + Providing Compliance training to existing staff and new joiners where appropriate What you'll need to succeed + Significant knowledge of the PRA/FCA and Lloyd’s regulatory environment; + Significant experience overseeing regulatory compliance frameworks. + Openness and ability to share expertise with other team members and with colleagues in the wider business (including through formal and informal training) + Pro-active managerial skills with the ability to delegate effectively, motivate, teach and develop all team members to focus on what matters most + Ability to look ahead, think strategically and articulate their thinking within the team; + Ability to influence and work effectively within a matrixed organization with colleagues at all levels. + Strong interpersonal skills to foster good working relationships based on respect and trust. + Ability to pro-actively manage workload and prioritize tasks to ensure service standards are met. + Ability to maintain an independent view where necessary: willingness to challenge and question constructively #LI-AIG At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
