Compliance Manager - Export Control Officer (m/f/d)

Job Purpose/Role

 

The Export Control Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant export control regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing export control framework within the organization, structural and organizational support of the operational export control processes. The export control officer will closely collaborate with the first line business and other second lines of defence functions to manage and monitor export control compliance risks.

 

Compliance is organized in a regional model (Europe, India, APAC, North America and growing into other regions) to ensure proximity to its customers and to support the business; the central team provides support to local compliance officers within all businesses.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Monitoring changes in export control laws and update company policies and procedures accordingly. Designing the global Export Control Compliance Framework. Completing Export Control Assessments on the Allianz Technology service portfolio. Conduct risk assessments related to export activities and implement risk mitigation strategies. Advise and collaborate with key stakeholders including across the organization including senior management and local compliance officers to resolve export control issues and ensure alignment on compliance matters across all departments. Leading the implementation of the Export Control Compliance framework across AZ Technology. Maintaining appropriate due diligence and internal record keeping to comply with regulatory requirements Reviewing, assessing and submitting applications for Export Control Licenses to regulatory authorities. Leading and coordinating risk and control assessments for Export Control to ensure adequate identification of Export Control related risks and implementation of appropriate mitigation activities.   Develop and deliver internal training and awareness on Export Control to ensure relevant employees understand and comply with export control policies and procedures  and support the organization in maintaining an effective compliance culture. Assist with internal and external audits related to Export Control Compliance Prepare Senior Management and Board Reporting for the topic of Export Control.

 

 

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 

3 + years of professional experience in an Export Control Compliance related role in Financial Services or Technology industry or similar. Strong understanding of export control compliance regulation and export licensing procedures. Business fluent English is required. Other languages are a plus. Experience working in a multi-national business is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex regulations. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience of preparing Senior/Board level reports Strong team-work skills and intercultural experience Higher education degree or qualification in Compliance, Legal, Business, Engineering, Education, Computer Science, MBA  etc. a plus.
