JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

As Compliance Officer, you will support the development, implementation and embedding of the regulatory compliance framework for Cigna entities based in Europe.

YOUR JOB: 

Support the team, by acting as subject matter expert on EU and Belgian-centric compliance obligations applicable to insurance intermediaries and insurersManage compliance projects across the Belgian-based companies (CLICE/CEIC/CIHS) and their branches, with particular focus on implementing EU and Belgian prudential obligations, next to Belgian and local conduct risk obligations applicable to EU branchesSupport the delivery of the annual compliance strategy and plan Report on Compliance activities and conduct horizon scanning on upcoming regulations with an EU or Belgian nexusPropose and drive enhancements to compliance processes to ensure the compliance framework remains relevant for the current business structure and is aligned to best practiceAdapt and maintain the framework of compliance policies and procedures to support business practices, promote ethical standards and ensure regulatory and legal complianceAssist in the implementation of relevant compliance risk processes, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with Solvency IIActively promote and embed a positive compliance culture throughout the business and promote the capabilities of the compliance team to provide high quality, cost effective and focused advice and support in respect of business initiativesBuild and maintain strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets the business’ expectationsLiaise with other business and independent internal control functions to ensure a coordinated approachMaintain detailed knowledge of the regulatory requirements and developments across Europe and in BelgiumCo-ordinate responses to any regulatory risk assessments, visits or information requests, and provide accurate informationSupport, advise and coach junior team members to develop their skills and knowledge and assist with delivery of other appropriate training needs

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE NEEDED: 

Master’s degree in law from a Belgian university or equivalent knowledge of the Belgian legal and compliance framework for insurance activitiesStrategic thinker, able to recommend solutions that balances business and risk perspectivesBusiness fluent in written and spoken English, fluent in French or Dutch as native speakerAble to make efficient use of MS Office 365 applicationsAble to perform basic data analyses using appropriate tools or willingness to acquire such skills within a reasonable amount of time.
