Compliance Risk Assessment and Monitoring Specialist m/f/d, Assistant Vice President, Hybrid

Who we are looking for

As the Compliance Risk Assessment and Risk Monitoring Specialist, Assistant Vice President, you will be based in Munich or Frankfurt, Germany, reporting directly into the head of SSBI Compliance Methodology.

In this role you will drive the design, execution and ongoing enhancement of the methodologies underpinning SSBI’s legal entity Compliance Risk Assessment and multi-year Compliance Monitoring and Testing plan. You will coordinate the execution of the risk assessment for the SSBI Head of Compliance, gathering input from Compliance Advisory colleagues across our locations and businesses. You will analyze the results, ensuring that the methodology was closely followed and that the output is accurate, complete and of high quality. You will help prepare reporting for senior-level risk committees, the Management Board and the Supervisory Board on the results of the compliance risk assessment and regarding the execution and output of the compliance risk monitoring and testing plan. In addition, you will be a point of contact for internal audit reviews related to risk assessment and monitoring & testing.

The ideal candidate for this role has previous experience in a risk or control function within the financial industry. They will have conducted or designed risk assessments or compliance risk monitoring plans. They will be familiar with European and German regulatory requirements applicable to compliance risk assessment and risk monitoring and testing or have a background in audit within the German or European context.

What you will be responsible for

Own and continually enhance the methodology  and related procedures for Compliance Risk Assessment and the Compliance Risk Monitoring and Testing plan

Act as a Compliance Risk Assessment coordinator for the SSBI Head of Compliance, providing robust support during the risk assessment cycles and producing reporting on risk assessment activities to the appropriate governance committees

Own and continually enhance methodologies and procedures related to the multi-year compliance risk monitoring and testing plan, in close partnership with our Compliance Advisory and dedicated compliance risk testing team in Poland

Facilitate regular and ad hoc updates of the compliance risk assessment and provide summary reporting to management

Utilise internal dashboards to source quantitative Risk Assessment data (e.g. findings, controls etc.) to complete the semi-annual refresh

Support the SSBI Head of Compliance by providing feedback to relevant risk assessments performed by other functions

Know and understand the firm’s top risk areas, understand how they manifest and help ensure they are robustly and accurately assessed

Maintain a strong connection and feedback loop between the risk assessment and the risk monitoring and testing plan

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Completed university degree in a related discipline

Three to five years of experience in a related field (e.g., financial services, banking, consulting, audit)

Relevant experience in a risk or control function of a highly regulated, international firm

Fluency in English is required

German fluency is an advantage

Experience in risk assessment methodologies, tools and techniques

Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word

LEAN, Agile, Six Sigma certifications a plus

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA, ACCA, CISA, CFE, statutory auditor etc.) a plus
