Job Description:About the Role:

As a Compliance Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in overseeing the MaineGeneral Health Compliance Program, supporting departments with expert guidance and ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations.

Our team goes beyond problem-solving; we empower departments with the tools and knowledge to succeed. This position is onsite at the Ballard Center in Augusta—offering a collaborative environment where great ideas happen. You'll love the convenience of our on-site café and we’re located near downtown Augusta, giving you easy access to local shops and restaurants.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a compliance resource, staying current on regulations and offering clear guidance.Audit clinical documentation and revenue cycle processes, recommending and monitoring corrective actions.Develop and deliver compliance education across all workforce levels.Research coding, billing, and documentation requirements to support departments.Education & Experience:Credentialed in Healthcare Administration, Compliance, Coding, or a related field preferred.Previous experience in healthcare compliance, auditing, or coding preferred.Background in Revenue Cycle operations or medical billing/coding is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute).Basic understanding of coding practices (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).

Soft Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.Critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.Calm, resourceful, and decisive under pressure.
