Driving Compliance and Sustainability As the Supervisor, Compliance and Sustainability, you will be responsible for implementing the ever-changing Environmental and Health compliance framework related to products and packaging by driving compliance between suppliers, corporate teams and Dealers. Led by the Manager, Compliance and Sustainability this opportunity will suit someone who has strong leadership, communication and research skills. Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:Implement Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs and processes, that reduce costs, waste, improve efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, etc. Manage the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database, chemical formulas database, packaging and printed paper database, ensuring product packaging meets labeling standards (bilingual, CCCR, etc.). Ownership for the Extended Producer Responsibility databases; includes collecting and maintaining product data for government reporting and other relevant regulations as needed. Ensure compliance is achieved to all regional, Provincial and Federal policies, regulations and laws. Assist with gathering Environmental Handling Fee (EHF) information for audits to ensure compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs across Canada. Oversee the implementation of Home Hardware’s product and packaging Sustainability Program, driving down costs and identifying pollution prevention opportunities. Continual improvement to utilize best practice methodologies for reporting and data collection (such as using Actual data calculations, ABOM calculations, and reducing calculator usage). Oversee preparation of EPR and sustainability-related internal and external communications (written reports, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.) to promote/announce sustainability initiatives/updates and to support internal decision making. Oversee the review Product certifications and work with Master Data team to maintain appropriate item attributes (Energy Star, WaterSense, CSA, UL, FSC, etc.). Provide leadership, training and oversee the day-to-day roles of the Compliance and Sustainability Analyst team.We’re looking for: Diploma in Business, Environment & Business, Environmental Microbiology, Environmental Toxicology with 3-5 years of experience. Knowledge of corporate sustainability concepts/trends and industry standards.Ability to provide expert advice and resources to company management, stakeholders and employees. Analyze situations or compliance issues and provide solutions to issues/problems that are identified. Excellent interpersonal and people management skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal, with the ability to present difficult concepts in understandable terms to all levels in the organization.Strong leadership and facilitation skills with a proven ability to be a solutions-oriented decision maker.Demonstrates ability to be flexible to prioritize and respond to multiple competing demands. Excellent computer skills including, PowerBI, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint).The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
