ABOUT THE ROLE

The Compliance Tester position will be responsible for executing risk-based compliance transaction testing focusing on Core Retail Banking and FinTech partnerships under the leadership of the Compliance Manager.  The Compliance Tester will perform a key second line of defense role to validate business adherence to applicable Laws, Regulations, and Guidance.  A successful associate enjoys developing a deep understanding of compliance requirements, conducting testing, and drawing conclusions based on critical thinking, judgement and analysis.  The Compliance Tester I role requires the ability to work cross functionally with business and compliance partners and the ability to work autonomously. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Execute targeted risk-based transaction testing across Core Retail and FinTech partnership businesses. Manage to testing schedules to ensure all tasks and reporting are completed within established timeframes. Demonstrate an understanding of testing methodology, business processes, and related regulatory and compliance standards. Obtain and analyze data from various sources, support and initiate efforts to improve data sourcing, and assist in driving innovative ways to approach testing. Analyze data from multiple sources and effectively document the work and results, including prior compliance testing resolution and remediation. Establish and maintain a strong relationship with Business and Compliance partners as part of the testing process. Collaborate with peers and other business partners to ensure accuracy and understanding in processes as part of the testing process. Assist in communicating results to Compliance Director and Chief Compliance Officer, as needed. Maintain strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills; ability to complete multiple tasks within deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Succinctly and clearly communicate complex fact patterns to others. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Exercise professional skepticism and judgment.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree required 3+ years of experience in compliance testing or monitoring, risk management, auditing 2+ years of experience analyzing data and making recommendations based on data Compliance Regulatory Compliance Certification (CRCM) Working knowledge of banking consumer compliance regulations Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and multitask to meet required timelines Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
