Component Assembler

Summary

The incumbent of this role is responsible for performing operations in preparation, combination, connection, and fabrication of various parts into heated components. In this role, the Component Assembler will provide assistance to other Assemblers or other production personnel when necessary.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
 

The duties of the Component Assembler include, but are not limited to:

Ensure that all heater element parts received are correct to given specifications or blueprint.Position and attach hardware, such as element, stake, and/or wind element to component as per Job Instruction Sheet.Prepare part for the brazing process or plasma spraying as per product requirements.Aerosol seal to exclude moisture, add wires, assemble ceramics, seals, and the terminal end cap.Identify assembled component and etch information as required on the product as per JIS;Conduct multiple inspections (3-way, heat, alcohol, etc) to verify compliance of assembled component to the applicable part lists, blueprints, test sheets and JIS;Build, assemble and/or prep other products to proper specifications required as per JIS;Conduct minor preventative maintenance procedures as scheduled.Complete minor troubleshooting as required.Observes and listens to operation in order to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged tools when possible.Notify Team Leader when run times are incorrect or product will not meet timelines.Ensure machining tasks are completed in accordance with specified run times.Report discrepancies to the appropriate department.Provide guidance and/or training for apprentices when required.Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements.Ensure ISO guidelines are followed; follow Job Instruction Sheets and Tag Procedures etc;

Providing services and support to customers and suppliers

In this role the Component Assembler will construct individual and prefabricated parts using automatic machines, equipment, hand, and power tools. In addition to helping peers when needed, the Component Assemblers must be capable of coordinating work to meet customer delivery times.
