Component Test Technician III

The Engines Component Test Technician plays a crucial role in the research, development, and qualification of engine components. This position involves executing various tests to evaluate the functionality, durability, and performance of engine components, ensuring compliance with internal and industry standards, requirements, and specifications. The technician is responsible for gathering, setting up, and operating test equipment, conducting tests, and recording data in compliance with test instructions and standard operating procedures. Collaboration with engineers, quality control teams, and other technical staff is essential to optimize test procedures and solve any issues that arise during the testing process.

The ECT team works with designers, systems engineers, and analysts to plan and perform development and qualification test campaigns of cryogenic, pressurized, pneumatic and electro-mechanical flight hardware and assemblies to meet an aggressive development, production, and qualification schedule. We plan and supervise thermal, vibration, shock and vacuum testing on development and flight hardware.

To be successful in this role you will need to read and interpret work orders, maintain detailed test notes, define, procure, setup, and maintain test fixtures, and test support equipment. You will oversee environmental testing of components within our test facilities to ensure successful component qualification.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant experienceExtensive hands-on experience with tooling and mechanical assemblyExperience with operating complex aerospace test equipment (hydraulics, pneumatics, controls, safety systems or electronics)Skilled electrical fabrication, assembly, commissioning, and basic troubleshootingExperience with high pressure systems including hydraulics/pneumaticsAbility to identify/detect and communicate anomalies and failuresAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Planning Tasks:

Review work orders/instructions written by Test Engineers on the team to ensure consistency and clarity for physical execution of the testingPrepare test equipment prior to execution and aid test execution, implement lessons learned as appropriateDaily log of notes from test set up/execution shadowing, including areas for improvementCommunicate through formal report out tools:Ops Weekly reportWAR Template updates

Execution Tasks:

Gather test hardware (examples: dew point and particle count meters, flowmeters, pressure transducers, thermocouples, hard lines, GSE, K-bottles etc.). Get hardlines and other equipment sent for cleaning, proof, test work center, etc.Create electrical setupsConstruct thermal insulation boxes/enclosuresBend, fabricate, proof, and tag/label GSE (ground support equipment) tubingInstall helicoils into new manufactured fixturesIntegrate UUT (unit under test) to facility and our DAS (data acquisition system)Perform functional tests per written instructionsTest Engineer involved to make quick decision point callsTorque fittings, fasteners, and electrical connectorsMaintain test area cleanliness, organization, and asset management (tool crib attendant)Review test setups for safety and integrity
 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $38.19-$53.47

Other site ranges may differ
