Kaman Air Vehicles is searching for a Composite Blade Specialist to join our team in Bloomfield, CT.  The Composite Blade Specialist works under the direction of a Group Leader, Supervisor, or designee as assigned with minimum of supervision.  Duties include but are not limited to the following:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work from work orders, process sheets, verbal or written instructions, etc.Perform assembly or bonding together of various size and shape components using adhesives.Place components in fixture to maintain alignment, padded with fiberglass cloth, enclosed in a vacuum bag and sealed for autoclave and curing.Ability to use hand cutting tools, knives, scissors, razor blades, etc.Assist in moving fixtures as necessary or required.Report defective material or any other unusual circumstance or condition to supervision.Must have knowledge with operating autoclaves (manual and automated), Gerber / CNC material cutting and composite and metal bond clean up operations.Ability to clean and remove excess adhesive without damage to tools Qualifications

Eduction:  Requires the use of shop mathematics, including decimals and fractions.  Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, specifications, etc., use of adjustable measuring instruments and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications or the posting, preparation, interpretation, and the use and checking of reports, forms, etc.

 

Experience:  1 to 3 years experience to qualify
