Summary You will serve as a Composite/Plastic Fabricator Leader (Expert) in the Production Resources Department at PSNS and IMF. This position is an Expert Composite/Plastic Fabricator Leader, in Shop 64 leading a group to ensure work assignments are carried out. Responsibilities You will lead a group of Helpers, Workers, and Journeymen ensuring that all work assignments are carried out and that the team has a proper understanding of tools, materials, equipment and processes appropriate for their skill level. You will perform the construction of molds, templates, mockups, temporary structures, glass reinforced plastics (GRP) components and containments, using a variety of tooling and machinery. You will use Polycarbonate, wood, Acrylic, GRP, Formica, Benelex, Polyethylene and various composite materials to add contour, fabricate and repair ship components and temporary structures. You will identify deficiencies and upstream problems and implements corrective actions or mitigates the risk of such issues utilizing years of trade knowledge and experience. You will determine the best methods and procedures for accomplishing the current work assignment within the guidance of any and all related technical work documents.
