Job Description *This position is open to NYPD employees only. The Printing Section provides print material to the entire New York City Police Department. The Printing Section produces posters, banners, forms, pamphlets, booklets, targets, signage, executive stationery and print related materials as requested by the Department. The Compositor will perform copy preparation for print, edit files, proofread material for print, perform print layout to conform to specifications, typeset and platemaking, print rule-out and the use of a light table. Other duties include computer use along with related software. Five years of full-time satisfactory experience, acquired within the past 10 years, as a compositor or typesetter; or 2. A combination of experience and vocational training totaling five years, including at least three years of experience as described in "1" above. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each school year of satisfactory vocational training.
