Job Description
The Compounding Pharmacist will be responsible for overseeing liquid dosage pharmaceutical production, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting quality assurance, leading and training team members, and managing media fills and approvals. This role also involves training new employees on 503b outsourcing regulations, aseptic techniques, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee liquid dosage pharmaceutical production.
+ Ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
+ Lead and train team members on 503b outsourcing regulations and aseptic techniques.
+ Manage media fills and approvals.
+ Review and maintain documentation, including batch records and SOPs.
+ Collaborate with the QA team for investigations, CAPAs, and validation activities.
+ Ensure adherence to cGMP, FDA guidelines, and aseptic/sterile compounding principles.
+ Conduct environmental monitoring and ensure proper gowning in controlled manufacturing environments.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's or Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
+ Active Registered Pharmacist license in the state of practice.
+ Experience with pharmaceutical compounding and/or sterile manufacturing.
+ Strong understanding of cGMP, 503(b) outsourcing regulations, FDA guidelines, and aseptic/sterile compounding principles.
+ Proficiency in reviewing and maintaining documentation, including batch records and SOPs.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with 503b outsourcing facilities and aseptic/terminal sterilization processes.
+ Experience utilizing Trackwise QMS software.
+ Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
+ Desire to build a team/department from the ground up.
Work Environment
Currently, 45 people are working onsite. Work is performed in a cleanroom environment (in an aseptic filling facility) that requires appropriate aseptic gowning and adherence to strict aseptic protocols. The role may require extended periods of standing, walking, or lifting in a production setting. Regular interaction with production equipment and materials in sterile and controlled environments is expected. Two shifts are available: 1st shift: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm; 2nd shift: 3:30 pm - 11:00 pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $155000.00
