Compression Technical Specialist - III/Sr.

As a Compression Technical Specialist III/Sr. you will ensure system integrity while maintaining compliance, and the safety of facility equipment by improving the performance and reliability of rotating equipment. Project planning, teamwork and evaluation skills are keys to success in this role and safety is of utmost importance! Responsibilities/Expectations: + Performs moderately sophisticated technical assignments that ensure system integrity, compliance, facility equipment maintenance, and pipeline operations support + Participates in project planning and collaborates with company partners to guarantee accurate and available data + Reads, understands and evaluates engineering design documents, contracts and agreements + Adheres to all policies and procedures + Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Experience with high-speed natural gas engines & compressors (Ariel/Caterpillar Packaging) + Knowledge of installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair + Preferred: Experience with Vibration Analysis/Testing Category 1,2,3 or higher + Preferred: Understanding of API 618 pulsation analysis requirements and experience applying them + Preferred: Experience with Fleet-level maintenance and reliability program + Preferred: Knowledge of equipment health monitoring + Preferred: Technical training facilitation, material development and root cause failure analysis training experience + Preferred: Equipment sizing and selection experience + Preferred: General rotating equipment experience (high-speed reciprocating compression, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, pumps, turbo expanders) + Preferred: Experience using the following tools and software towards equipment maintenance, reliability, performance analysis, sizing, selection: Maximo, Windrock Analyzers, Resonance Analyzers, OSIsoft PI, Caterpillar Gas Engine Rating Pro (GERP), Ariel performance software + Preferred: Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) certification Education/Years of Experience: + Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in engineering or a technical field and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in oil & gas industry + Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field and minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty Physical and Environment Work Requirements: Must be willing to: + Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces + Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed + Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time + Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) + Use hand tools Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements: + Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises + May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays Other Requirements: + Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record + Exhibits excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills Why Choose Williams?
