Computational Simulation Engineer - Intern

Project Summary:
The Computational Simulation Intern will support the Innovation team at Carlisle CCM by assisting in various computational modeling and simulation projects. This role will provide hands-on experience in applying finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques to optimize the performance and durability of commercial roofing materials and systems. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the development and improvement of innovative roofing solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, or COMSOL to assist in the design and optimization of roofing membranes, adhesives, and related materials. Develop and validate computational models to predict material performance under different environmental and mechanical conditions. Support cross-functional teams, including R&D, product development, and manufacturing, by providing modeling insights throughout the product development process. Assist in designing experiments and analyzing data using statistical methods and Design of Experiments (DOE). Contribute to technical documentation, including reports and presentations, summarizing findings and recommendations. Stay updated on advancements in computational modeling, FEA, and related technologies to support ongoing project needs.
