Computed Tomography Technologist

Position Summary: Performs computed tomography (CT) scans to produce cross-sectional images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Technologist is responsible for completing all critical tasks on a timely basis.

Critical Tasks: 

Accurately interprets provider orders, assesses patient's medical condition as well as patient’s ability to tolerate contrast and examination. Assesses patient's medical condition while utilizing two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient identification and procedure.Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table, using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position.Follows radiologist protocol’s for all scans.Administers contrast media by oral or intravenous means.Enters patient and scan data correctly.Observes and monitors patient safety and comfort while in their care.Starts camera to produce radiographs.Modifies scans due to observed pathology.Completes quality 3D renderings and diagnostic post-processing Evaluates computer-generated information for technical quality.Completes daily quality assurance activities to ensure proper compliance.Assures and arranges for timely equipment maintenance so as not to delay patient imaging according to established schedules.Maintains all contrast logs; crash cart logs; and others as needed.Applies the ALARA principle and minimizes patient dose whenever possible.Orders, stocks and inventories all supplies.Completes 24 ARRT approved CEU's during each biennium to include the requisite number in CTMaintains all required license.Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish all tasks despite frequent interruptions.Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions.Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred), plus 7 years previous CT Technologist experience; or equivalent education and experience.ARRT and MRTBE certifications.Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures.Interest in medical subjects, patient services/care, and customer service.Prior medical environment work experience is preferred. CPR certification
