Computer Aided Design ManagerKBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.
KBR is looking for a CAD Manager to manage a CAD team who revise technical drawings for all disciplines. Coordinates with Document Control manager and client to ensure drawings are updated accurately, meet due dates and are compliant with client’s design standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of generated design deliverables. Serves as the senior CAD drafter.
This position is located at the Spruance Site in Richmond, VA. Work will be performed full time at site.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsible for receiving requests, documenting and managing the completion of updated design and detail drawings.
Be proficient in knowledge and maintaining client’s CAD standards and guidelines.
Use multiple software packages to generate reports, manage drawings and transmit documentation to clients electronically.
Coordinate and collaborate with Document Control manager to manage the accessibility, storage and resolution of drawings.
Provide clear instructions and guidance to plan, organize and manage work plans of CAD team.
Train and guide CAD operators in application skills, drafting techniques and standards.
Evaluate team members in their technical skills, performance and productivity.
Monitor the quality and accuracy of output generated by the CAD team. Review and approve designs and drawing updates before release to clients for approval.
Interpret design requests and interacts with clients for clarification and resolution of technical issues. Responsible for redlining associated drawings not included in initial requests.
Organizational abilities to manage multiple projects concurrently and ensure all updates are completed within set timelines.
Implement and maintain documentation records of generated design deliverables.
Maintain plant area personnel lists in distribution documentation.
Provide backup responsibilities for Document Control manager.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Minimum 5 years of applicable design experience within the chemical and industrial industry.
Proven work experience as a CAD manager or similar role.
Extensive experience and proficiency with CAD software platforms, preferably MicroStation.
Experience in communicating with designers, engineers and plant area personnel.
Sound knowledge of Process, E&I, Mechanical and CSA engineering principles and practices.
Must have a keen eye for detail.
Must possess excellent leadership, technical and organizational skills.
