Summary PUERTO RICO NATIONAL GUARD ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT COLA: 2.63% Duty Location: Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF), Puerta de Tierra, PR Responsibilities This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete an online Onboarding process. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e., Airman, civilian, active-duty Soldier, prior service, guard member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the Recruiting and Retention (R&R) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2015 or 2008 and request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRARNG, your application will not be screened. Area 1 = All permanent Technician Warrant Officer and Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 2 = All indefinite Technician Warrant Officer and Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 3 = Warrant Officer and Enlisted currently serving members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 4 = Warrant Officer and Enlisted Prior (former) members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 6 = Applicants who meet all requirements to become Warrant Officer or Enlisted members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. (If the MBR certification is not submitted, your application will not be screened). First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (All other Areas will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Candidates). To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor. DUTIES: As a COMPUTER ASSISTANT (D1074000), GS-0335-9, you will administer and maintain Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation (ULLS-A) at the AASF. Position provides guidance to users in the daily operation and maintenance of the ULLS-A system and serves as the point of contact between the AASF and external supporting organizations (e.g., Combat Service Support Automation Management Office AVCRAD, National Guard). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is generally sedentary with nominal walking or standing for short periods of time. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office environment. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, training, or education which demonstrates the applicant's ability to follow directions, procedures, or systematic work methods which gives evidence of the candidate's ability to perform this work. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year at the next lower-level grade GS-07 or the equivalent TWENTY-FOUR (24) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as creating local modifications; providing for the communication of data between testing platforms and the STAMIS system; ensuring the timely and accurate exchange of maintenance, supply and operational data between individual aircraft laptop computers and the Local Area Network (LAN); working with multiple operating systems with guidelines that are not always specific or may not exist; monitoring the transfer of data between aircraft laptops and LAN computers; monitoring data back-up systems; ensuring data and data files are accurately entered into a system through the Local Area Network (LAN); monitoring database files from outside sources; restoring deleted data files as necessary; utilizing Standing Operating Procedures (SOP's) in the event of ULLS-A failure; troubleshooting common or recurring problems experienced by laptop users; creating database inquiries; assisting AASF users in preparing locally designed reports; creating, editing and saving database queries; prioritizing work and necessary repair actions; ensuring reports accurately reflect individual aircraft status; maintaining and updating unit parameters and aircraft/weapon systems authorization files; serving as the Terminal Area Security Officer (TASO) with security oversight over AASF ULLS-A system components; managing ULLS-A network security protection mechanisms; assigning, securing, storing, and maintaining user IDs, passwords and controls individual and group access to the ULLS-A system; providing advice and recommendations for using and safeguarding ULLS-A data and resources; training or works with personnel on ULLS-A changes and procedures. Education SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 3 months of specialized experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position. NOTE: Copy of official/student transcripts showing conferred Degree must be included in order to receive credit for education. Unofficial transcripts from internet or with alterations will not be considered. To receive credit for education the information must be included in the education section of the Resume.
