Computer Engineer/Modeler
**Responsibilities** Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking to hire a Computer Engineer. Noblis MSD is seeking a Computer Engineer to design, develop, implement, and test mathematical models/software based simulations of physical electrical power and machinerysystems. This will also involve evaluation and analysis of equipment and system designs and test data. The candidate will be expected to work with a team of engineers and technicians to complete deliverable applications and coordinate with government sites and ship platforms. **PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:** 1. Perform advanced engineering work concerned with the design, evaluation, testing and operation of US Navy shipboard electrical power and propulsion systems. 2. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. 3. Participate in special projects as required. 4. Participate in setting up and conducting laboratory and field testing to include developing test methodologies, test planning and execution, related instrumentation and sensors, and data analysis. 5. Develop mathematical models of power systems, propulsion systems, control systems, and networks are desired. 6. Participates in setting up and conducting laboratory and field testing to include developing test methodologies, test planning and execution, related instrumentation and sensors, and data analysis **Required Qualifications** + Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical\Mechanical\Computer Engineering or Engineering and 3+ years work expeirence + Security+ Certification + Engineering experience using Matlab or equivalent method to support modeling and simulation of navy shipboard power and machinery systems + At least 3 years experience working on engineering principles, methods, and techniques + At least 2 years experience in modeling and simulation of Power Systems, Propulsion systems and associated hardware, software, and equipment + Candidates must be US citizens with a DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. **Desired Qualifications** + Experience working with C++, Java, C, Python and/or other Object Oriented Programming languages + Experienced workign with Diesel Engines, Generators, PID controllers, Hardware Design + Experienced working with control system design and implementation **Overview** Noblis (http://www.noblis.org/) and our wholly owned subsidiaries, Noblis ESI , and Noblis MSD tackle the nation's toughest problems and apply advanced solutions to our clients' most critical missions. Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked.
