The Computer Operator (CO) is responsible for the operation of computer peripheral and office equipment to suuport the production computer output. The Computer Operator works on various mainframes and network equipment to support the production computer output based on established procedures of the State DTI. CO1
Years of Relevant Experience: 3 years
Preferred Education: 2 year college degree or equivalent technical study in computer operations field
Role Description:
•Responsible for operation and troubleshooting of equipment and routine maintenance of computer peripheral equipment (within parameters of maintenance agreements) and office equipment such as cutsheet/network printers, inserters/stuffers, binders, and scanners.
•Responsible for preparation, packaging and delivery of computer output as defined within documented instructions and procedures.
•Responsible for verifying the quality and accuracy of computer output as defined within documented instructions and procedures.
•Responsible for producing output from jobs in coordination with data entry, tape library, and operator services personnel.
•Responsible for maintaining logs or work processed and performing control total verification/balancing activities.
•Responsible for ensuring stocked supplies and request to order as applicable.
•Responsible for interacting with state agencies in a way that provides efficient and courteous service to our customers.
•Responsible for mail and package receipt and delivery.
•Responsible for working overtime, weekends, when required with advance notice.
•Ability to work on nightshift (midnight - 8:00 am).
•Ability to meeting deadlines and conform to established schedules
•Ability to interpret and execute documented instructions.
•Ability to analyze problems quickly and adopt an effective course of action.
•Responsible for performing other tasks, as assigned.
Must be able to work under the direction of the Output Management Supervisor or Operations Service Supervisor.
