Job Description

With our extensive experience in road management and infrastructure development, we can support you by providing Geo-data analysis, surveying and pavement evaluation, equipment and software, plus design engineering and consultancy.

The Computer Programmer will propose, develop, and maintain databases and applications using any appropriate combination of development tools including Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, and MS Office applications. This role will manage databases and applications for projects. The individual will confer with engineers, technicians, subject-matter experts, and other IT staff members on project requirements, schedules, deadlines, expected outcomes, algorithms, and database and application development standards.

Fugro will not provide relocation for this job opportunity.

Job Responsibilities

Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.Develop software and applications using appropriate tools (e.g., Visual Studio with VB and C#, Excel with VBA, Access with VBA, ArcGIS, Python and other computer languages and databases as necessary).Assist and develop new methods to extract, transfer, and load data from a variety of formats.Develop and maintain secure, complete, and up-to-date development and production code bases.Prepare installation files for distribution.Ensure correct and up-to-date deployment of custom applications.Write, distribute, and present documentation and training materials.Communicate tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing.Maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.Execute work duties in an organized and efficient manner.Able to meet deadlines.Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures.Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company’s processes, including safety program and quality management system.Maintain organized and clean work area.Work well while under supervision.Able to work while under stress.Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.           Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, OR a minimum of 5 years of database and application development experience using Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server and VB/C#.Extensive skills in application development and database programming.Proficiency in Visual Studio, SQL, VBNBA, C# and Microsoft SQL ServerExtensive knowledge of computer hardware.Knowledge of QA/QC proceduresFamiliar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
