COMPUTER SCIENTIST/ GENERAL ENGINEER
Summary You will serve as a Network Engineering and Ops Center Lead in the WOLF Rapid Capability Engineering Group Rapid Capability Solutions Department of NAWCAD WEBSTER OUTLYING FIELD. Responsibilities You will be responsible for program development and/or oversight of major NAVAIR level or Component/Command level programs relating to research, development, testing, evaluation, innovation, and reengineering. You will be recognized as a technical authority in an important field covering all facets of work assigned. You will conceive, plan, and conduct pioneering work of outstanding scope, difficulty, and complexity in unexplored or heretofore unpromising areas of investigation. You will serve as a recognized authority and expert consultant to a large command and/or at the agency/interagency levels. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing expert technical direction and team leadership of engineers, technicians, IT professionals, and business support. Providing full range of combined technical and administrative direction to subordinates and other professionals. 2) Working collaboratively with sponsors and other program management authorities to develop solutions for war fighting requirements. 3) Managing priorities and developing tactical resource plans to facilitate Organic Lead System Integrator (oLSI) project execution. 4) Services and supply contract development and management experience 5) Performing Design, development, acquisition, integration, test and evaluation, and modernization of C2 systems and Intel systems that support rapid response to CONUS and OCONUS events requiring agency interoperable communications technologies across DOD, agency and state and local government stakeholders. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
