Description
We are looking for a proficient Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Albany, New York. In this role, you will be a key player in providing support for our financial system, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining efficient system operations. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Provide first level support for help desk and security incidents.
• Field incoming calls and emails, promptly addressing user issues and requests.
• Accurately document all user interactions, issues, and requests during initial contact.
• Utilize extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook to assist users.
• Leverage system knowledge and resources to analyze user issues and find resolutions.
• Coordinate with the help desk supervisor to ensure coverage during established business hours.
• Maintain a working understanding of our financial system's navigation, procedures, and processing requirements.
• Support users in system use, including navigation, access, and report generation.
• Participate in training, workgroups, and agency meetings to continuously improve skills and system knowledge.
• If necessary, route complex issues and requests to the appropriate second line of support.
Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
• Strong training skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms
• Knowledge and understanding of various procedures related to computer support
• Experience in answering inbound calls and providing immediate remote assistance
• Proficiency in email correspondence, with excellent written communication skills
• Ability to provide workstation support and deskside support when required
• Familiarity with internet troubleshooting and related issues
• Strong phone presence, with the ability to communicate effectively over calls
• Excellent overall communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in Windows OS and other computer sciences
• Understanding of various principles related to computer support
• Ability to provide evidence-based solutions to technical issues
• A Plus certification would be an added advantage
• Willingness to work overtime when required
• Experience in SharePoint Administration
• Familiarity with Knowledge Base and Servicenow Application
• Understanding of financial systems related to computer support
• Experience in conducting reference checks
