Computer Support Technician
System One
System One has an immediate need for a Computer Support Technician in the Pittsburgh area. This is a 6-month contract position with potential for extension.
The End User Support Technician will play a key role in a PC refresh project across multiple manufacturing plants in the Pittsburgh (PGH) area. This position requires mobility, as the technician will be responsible for building and replacing computers at various locations. Additionally, the technician will provide tech support as needed. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in both office and industrial environments, adhering to all necessary safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and deploy new laptops and desktops.
+ Configure various software packages according to user specifications.
+ Perform desktop imaging and hardware maintenance as required.
+ Track and monitor inventory issues to ensure timely hardware orders.
+ Assist with all Desktop Support-related projects, ensuring proper resource utilization.
+ Compile project status reports and coordinate project schedules.
+ Identify and resolve technical problems within project scope.
+ Provide remote and deskside support for software and hardware issues.
+ Utilize Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Active Directory for software installations and data transfers.
+ Maintain compliance with all organizational cybersecurity guidelines.
Qualifications:
+ Proficiency with Office 365 products; experience with O365 GCC High is a plus.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Surface Laptop and Surface Pro tablets is preferred.
+ Experience with SCCM is beneficial but training is available.
+ Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) standards and practices.
+ Ability to diagnose and resolve Level 1.5 to Level 2 end-user issues.
+ Strong customer service skills with a problem-solving mindset.
+ Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
Work Environment & Requirements:
+ Must have reliable transportation to travel between multiple PGH area sites; mileage is reimbursed.
+ Must be willing to be mobile, walking around plants, crawling under desks, and working in industrial environments.
+ Must be comfortable wearing necessary PPE, including work boots, safety glasses, and hard hats when required.
+ Work hours are flexible between 7 AM – 5 PM (e.g., 7-4, 7:30-4:30, or 8-5) with an 8-hour workday.
+ Must be safety-conscious and aware of surroundings while working in operational areas.
