Computer Systems Engineer/Architect

As a Computer Systems Engineer/Architect, you will assume a pivotal role in architecting, implementing, and securing the network infrastructure and cybersecurity measures tailored to the unique requirements and stringent standards of the Department of Defense (DoD). Your responsibilities will span across network engineering, cybersecurity architecture, and technical leadership. Leveraging your expertise in these domains, you will design resilient network architectures, implement robust cybersecurity measures, and provide strategic guidance to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the systems and data. Responsibilities Architect, design, and implement secure and resilient network infrastructures to support the development and deployment of software systems for DOD projects. Configure and deploy network equipment to ensure a robust, efficient, and cybersecure network. Develop detailed system architecture diagrams, to include hardware configurations, network topologies, and software components, to guide system implementation and integration efforts. Implement and deploy computer systems and architectures, ensuring adherence to design specifications, performance metrics, and quality standards. Conducting system performance analysis and optimization activities to identify bottlenecks, mitigate risks, and improve system scalability, reliability, and responsiveness. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate security measures and protocols into system designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Collaborate with teammates to integrate security into all aspects of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and infrastructure. Serve as a subject matter expert and technical liaison for internal stakeholders, external vendors, and partners, providing guidance, support, and expertise on system-related matters. Qualifications Experience: Extensive experience in computer systems engineering, architecture, design, operation and maintenance. Proficient in system design methodologies, architectural frameworks, and modeling tools, with a strong understanding of hardware, software, and network components. Proficienct in network design and implementation, including configuration, deployment, operation and management of cybersecure networking hardware. Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale computer systems, including servers, storage arrays, networking infrastructure, and virtualization technologies. Familiar with cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, with a focus on integrating security into system designs and architectures. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to staying abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in computer systems engineering and architecture Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred Relevant work experience may be substituted for education Other Requirements: Secret security clearance or higher. United States citizenship. Working Environment: Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more. Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine, and printer. Must be able to travel to customer sites and test events to support system fielding Physical Activities: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
