KBR is seeking an innovative and highly-motivated engineer to support a MILSATCOM Program Management Office (PMO) within the US Space Force’s (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC) at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO.
The candidate will act as the Commercial Satellite Communications (COMSATCOM) Systems Integrator, supporting the MILSATCOM Product Support Delta (SSC/CGM). The COMSATCOM Systems Integrator will be part of the team leading the planning and initial integration of both new military and commercial SATCOM capabilities into the DoD in support of the Joint Force and Allied partners.
This position is ideal for a candidate who has an innovative mindset coupled with technical acumen and programmatic expertise, reporting to the SSC/CGM Business Operations Manager and working within the MILSATCOM Futures section to transition new systems and capabilities, facilitate modernization/enhancements for legacy systems, and maximize cross-program efficiencies internal to the current portfolio. The position requires the candidate to explore military/commercial capabilities in the industry, understand the technical aspects of integrating these capabilities to existing military infrastructure, and provide recommendations to the government customer for potential contract actions with the end state of building a more resilient portfolio of space-based telecommunications. This candidate will be an integral part in the development of the SSC/CGM Roadmap and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), capturing new MILSATCOM/COMSATCOM capabilities due to transition to operations and sustainment in the next 10 years. This effort is expected to result in efficiencies which lower total life-cycle sustainment costs, recognize quantifiable benefits to Joint and Allied warfighters, and increase overall combat readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Explores new COMSATCOM capabilities that may be available for DoD use; assists in the transition of new MILSATCOM capabilities into operations and sustainmentResearches new system capabilities, understands operational benefits and impacts to the warfighter, and identifies technical requirements as mapped to operational need across the space system (spacecraft, mission C2, uplinks, downlinks, networks, and user terminals)Facilitates knowledge growth of MILSATCOM personnel regarding possible use of COMSATCOM in existing and future MILSATCOM portfolioAssists in forming relationships within comsatcom community (development, operations and disposition lifecycle)Highlights enterprise-wide risks and opportunities to affect the transition of new capabilities and identification of program, technical and process interdependencies within the MILSATCOM portfolioFacilitates a smooth integration and potential testing to the greater MILSATCOM enterprise; critically identifies programmatic and technical shortfallsIdentifies “gaps and seams” related to technical data and artifacts required for efficient and effective operations and sustainment activitiesCreates a resolution plan for technical blockers/issues/concerns associated with capabilities post-transition to operationsCoordinates with other SSC/CGM government and contractor stakeholders to integrate new capabilities into established systems engineering (SE) and test & evaluation (T&E) processes, procedures and toolsIdentifies MILSATCOM systems at End-of-Life (EOL) and coordinates with respective SSC/CGM Program Managers and Lead Engineers to plan and execute obsolescence and dispositionWork Environment:

Active DoD SECRET clearanceBachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical disciplines from an accredited university5+ years of experience with COMSATCOM systems in the RF spectrum5+ years of experience with MILSATCOM systems in the RF spectrum10+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships15+ years of engineering experience across multiple projects within a diverse portfolioKnowledge of COMSATCOM industry capabilitiesKnowledge of MILSATCOM and DoD mission system sustainmentExcels in establishing/maintaining positive customer relationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsProficiency with MS Office 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams, MS Project)Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, line drawings and schematicsDemonstrated ability to produce technical Statement of Works (SOW), Bill of Materials, test plans and proceduresPreferred Qualifications:

Basic Compensation: $150,000 to $170,000. This range is for the Colorado area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
