The Concrete Structures Foreman plays a vital role in structures construction projects, actively engaging in work, overseeing the field crew and subcontractors, and ensuring the safe and timely completion of all projects while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Prioritizes safety by exemplifying, educating, and enforcing safe work practices, company policies, and procedures

- Optimizes crew size and equipment based on estimates to achieve cost-effective production

- Coordinates timely material deliveries to maintain smooth work activities

- Attends weekly look-ahead schedule meetings and leverages the schedule to efficiently complete tasks

- Comprehends budgets, estimated costs, contract drawings, and specifications, applying this understanding to project construction

- Completes each work activity thoroughly before proceeding to the next, maintaining a clean and organized work area

- Identifies, documents, and reports additional work to the supervisor

- Ensures proper care and use of company-owned equipment, such as pick-up trucks and small tools

- Manages external rental equipment to minimize costs

- Maintains and submits daily paperwork (e.g., timesheets, material tickets, truck tickets, force account information, daily diary) in an organized and timely manner

- Collaborates effectively with other foremen and employees

- Assesses work activities for potential safety risks (e.g., fall protection, manlifts, excavation support)

- Ensures proper use of safety equipment (e.g., hard hats, lanyards) by all crew members and verifies its availability

- Maintains open communication with customers to ensure high satisfaction levels

- Coordinates with contractors or subcontractors to align work and goals

 

Qualifications and Experience:

- 5+ years of experience as a Foreman, with specific expertise in structures

- Extensive knowledge of bridge construction, structural concrete, forming, concrete placement, and finishing

- Proven ability to manage crews of 4 or more employees

- Proficient in interpreting project-specific documents, including schedules, plans, and specifications

- Skilled in overseeing others and providing clear instructions to crew members

- In-depth understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions related to the work

- Capable of expertly executing instructions

- Adept at maintaining records and preparing production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change orders, and project file updates

- Willingness to perform additional administrative or project-related tasks as assigned

- Valid Driver’s License required
