Our client, a prestigious law firm recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Law Firms®, is seeking a highly-motivated Condominium & Homeowner Associations Associate Attorney to join their Litigation Practice Group in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated legal matters involving condominium, homeowner, and other common-interest community associations while advising clients on complex governance and litigation issues.

 

Candidate Profile:

JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

Active Bar Admission in Illinois.

5–8 years of substantive experience representing condominium, homeowner, and other common-interest community associations.

Strong background in defending directors and officers of not-for-profit corporations.

Experience handling claims related to professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and general tort claims.

Skilled in negotiating resolutions for disputes between owners and boards of directors.

Familiarity with Illinois statutes governing community associations and governing documents such as Declarations, Bylaws, and Rules & Regulations.

  Key Responsibilities:

Represent condominium and homeowner associations in litigation and governance matters.

Defend claims involving breach of fiduciary duty, professional negligence, contract disputes, and discrimination allegations.

Provide legal guidance on governing documents and regulatory compliance.

Negotiate and resolve disputes between community boards and homeowners.

Collaborate with a team of attorneys on complex community association litigation matters.
