Conference and Events Specialist, Regional Marketing EMEA

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Conference and Events Specialist to join our EMEA Regional Marketing team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, organizing and executing conferences, user group meetings, and other key events across the EMEA region. This position demands a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating impactful, high-quality events that resonate with our scientific community and align with 10x Genomics’ mission.

What you will be doing:

Event Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive event plans for conferences, user group meetings, and other key events that support 10x Genomics’ marketing and business objectives in the EMEA region. Set clearly defined event goals with Regional Marketing Manager Research and recommend venues, vendors, and services that meet event requirements, ensuring optimal attendee experience and budget efficiency. Event Execution: Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including contract negotiations, vendor management, registration, travel arrangements, and on-site coordination. Create detailed event timelines, agendas, and floor plans to ensure smooth execution. Manage the design and production of event materials, including signage, brochures, and digital content, in collaboration with the global and regional marketing team. Ensure all technical and audiovisual requirements are met, coordinating with AV teams and other technical service providers as necessary. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (regional marketing, global marketing, sales, support) and external partners to ensure successful collaboration on event content and participation. Serve as the primary point of contact for event stakeholders, addressing any enquiries and providing updates throughout the planning and execution phases. On-Site Management: Lead on-site event coordination, ensuring all aspects of the event run smoothly and according to plan. Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the event, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service. Coordinate on-site event staff and vendors to ensure seamless operations. Post-Event Analysis: Conduct post-event evaluations, gathering feedback from attendees, stakeholders, and team members to assess event success and identify areas for improvement. Analyze event metrics, including attendance, engagement, and ROI, and provide detailed reports to the marketing team. Implement best practices and lessons learned to continuously improve the planning and execution of future events. Compliance: Ensure all events comply with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Event Management, Communications, or a related field Demonstrable experience in successfully managing large-scale conferences and events, from concept to completion, preferably within the life sciences, healthcare, or technology industries Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple events and priorities simultaneously, to meet challenging deadlines in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality experiences for attendees and stakeholders Proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite (Mail, Calendar), Concur, Confluence, JIRA, Salesforce, Pardot (or other marketing automation system), Zoom or WebEx Meeting and Event Center Excellent English communication skills (written / oral / presentation) and able to collaborate across multiple disciplines Ability to travel within the region as required to be successful in this field based role, expected to be at least 40% of time within the region

Preferred Skills and/or Experience

Master’s degree or equvalent in Marketing, Event Management, Communications, or a related field Advanced proficiency in event and marketing automation tools Additional European language skills, preferably German or French
