Job Description

The Software Infrastructure team is responsible for the shared technologies our company uses to deliver internal and external systems. We are the custodians of the database standards for the organization and provide IS Portfolio teams with guidance, assistance, and standardized practices. We are looking for a Database Deployment Engineer to help us mature the deployment and delivery of shared database utilities and scripts. You will be assisting to implement industry standard pipelines and automation to an existing library of tools to aid with security. You will also have a key role in developing and implementing our database security standard. As a Database Deployment Engineer, you need to be constantly on the lookout for opportunities to improve our infrastructure security in ways that support development team autonomy. You will contribute by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Align database build and deployment and other tooling to Company's IT general controlsCollaborate and educate the Database Administration community on build and deployments methodsCollaborate with subject matter experts in the organization to gather and share best practicesUnderstand the compliance landscape and ensure repositories, pipelines and tooling is up to standardContribute to the furthering of the Core Portfolio's goals for infrastructure as code

This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with relational database management systems (DB2, PostgreSQL) and understanding of their core conceptsScripting experience with sh, ksh, bash, awk, sed, Python, and/or PerlExperience with Unix and Microsoft Windows environmentsExperience with build and deployment technologies (Gitlab/ Github)Experience with infrastructure as code tooling (Ansible)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of DB2 and PostgreSQL relational database management systems and conceptsExperience with database monitoring and observability toolingExperience with secrets as a service for database credential managementSome familiarity with SOX audit requirementsExperience with the build and deployment of databases at scaleFamiliarity working with distributed systemsBachelor's Degree, equivalent working experience or industry certifications

Additional Information

Expected base salary:  $100,000 to $150,000
