KBR is looking for highly motivated Configuration Management Specialist to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s (GSFC) next generation satellite laser ranging system, the Space Geodesy Satellite Laser Ranging (SGSLR) system. The successful candidate understands the mission needs to overcome development and operations limitations. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field. Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.

Configuration Management Responsibilities:

Establish and implement a Configuration Management (CM) process and baseline for each SGSLR system.Establish a Configuration Control Board (CCB), to review and approve changes to the SGSLR hardware and software and all controlled documents.Manage configuration baseline for Hardware/Software configurations by overseeing the CCB and other control mechanisms.Generate, accept, disposition, and maintain Change Requests, Deviations, and Waivers for all requested modifications to documents and drawings under CM.Submit engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintains records and submit reports regarding status.Prepares configuration verification audit record sheets for all programsCoordinate review schedules and timelines with Government customer.

They will also perform Data Management to ensure accurate control and delivery of data/documentation items associated with SGSLR elements and configurations as they progress through the design, implementation, integration, test, delivery, and commissioning cycles.

***Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder and be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)***

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

Have technical and analytic capabilities in systems engineering focused on baseline controlSkills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 6 - 8 years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.Experience with space systems acquisition and / or sustainment.Ability to work in fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates.Working knowledge and experience with space, engineering support, or IT related projectsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio & Adobe Acrobat Pro, SharePoint and MS TEAMS.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

Master’s degree in engineering discipline or systems engineering.5-10 years’ experience with space systems acquisition and /or sustainment.Understanding of acquisition and operations technology best practices.Exposure to the system design trade process, assessing system design options, analyzing mission requirements, monitoring vehicle development, test development/execution, and tracking requirement verification.Working knowledge of SolidWorks PDM

Basic Compensation

$100,200-$150,300

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
