Configuration Management Specialist III (3174)

GVI, Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking an experienced Configuration Management Specialist III with experience in providing change management and product configuration management guidance. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify the baseline function and physical characteristics for submarine electromagnetic and electro-optical systems and related equipment. Ensure that all identified items include the unique form, fit, function and interchangeability requirements. Track and document the status of all ECDs related to the functional, allocated, and product baselines; including those ECDs brought about by changes in mission requirements, advances in technology, or impacts of cost and scheduling.   Maintain approved functional, allocated, and product baselines to which equipment sets and their associated units are manufactured, overhauled and repaired. Review original equipment manufacturers (OEM) production drawings and provide drawing review comments. Provide a baseline status report for all ECDs incorporated into the baseline and deliver an annual baseline release report to all impacted sites and libraries identifying the latest Fiscal Year (FY) baseline status. Analyze engineering change documentation data to maintain Integrated Product Management (iPDM) non-conformance log and review the iPDM non-conformance log (SUBSAFE) daily to ensure it is updated and correct and identify all variations against the baseline via a monthly report. Maintain and route, via IPDM, all ECDs for proposing and incorporating changes into hardware, software, and documentation configuration items (CIs) for current production and continuing engineering programs. Perform engineering change control to identify: potential technical deficiencies, proposed design changes, alternative approaches and provide feedback to current engineering programs to increase design performance capabilities associated with ECDs and make corrections to the appropriate TDPs. Provide recommendations for the development of ECDs to update and maintain configuration baselines. Update, maintain, catalog, track, account, and submit technical status and activity reports for generic technical data including: Maintain master technical drawings into iPDM. Update master microfilm aperture card files into AutoCAD compatible system files as revisions and changes occur. Check-out, check-in and maintain card file custody records. Maintain original technical drawing files, hardcopy and otherwise. Update CSA changes to the Configuration Identification Data Management System, Open Architecture (CDMD-OA and Alice/iPDM) to include design, development, test, implementation and life cycle maintenance of web centric systems for the gathering, tracking, managing and delivery of Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES). Review, comment on, maintain, store and distribute, via iPDM, technical documentation that affects the operation, configuration and maintenance of the Configuration Item (CI). Conduct functional and physical configuration audits (Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audit (PCA)) and provide technical finding reports. Ensure all areas of impact include both hardware and software interfaces across internal and external system baselines.  Identify, document and analyze the systems being impacted and under CM control to ensure functional and physical attributes are properly documented and managed throughout the entire life-cycle evolution for all systems.

Education and Experience:

US Citizen Ability to pass a pre-employment background check SECRET (interim or final) security clearance Bachelor of Science Degree 10 years professional experience in configuration management. Experience maintaining and controlling all hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management. Have worked closely with the Configuration Control Board in defining and implementing procedures for releasing new products throughout the entire life cycle. Experience in providing change management and product configuration management guidance.
