Responsibilities:

The Configuration Manager is responsible for:

 

Writing the CM Plan and reporting progress statistics based on change requests. Reviewing, maintaining, and executing configuration management plans, policies, and standard operating procedures. Tracking the customers property. Identifying configuration items, implements change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.  Working with teams to create and maintain hardware and software configuration, and documentation configuration baselines (test, production, etc.).  Monitoring and auditing configuration changes to hardware and software to confirm that configuration management records and configuration items are complete, consistent, accurate, and ensure compliance with approved configuration baseline.  Preparing, supporting, and facilitating the Change Control Boards (CCB). Recommending improvements to the CCB Process in order to promote improved business functionality and overall efficiency. Ensuring that all changes to the baselines go through appropriate change boards. Tracking all problems and changes in product documents/software and reports changes, controls standard operating procedures and current configurations.
