The Home in Walpole is a residential treatment placement for adolescent youth who need specialized treatment as they heal from the traumatic events that have shaped their young lives. Youth who live on the campus are part of a greater community which includes Clifford Academy, a Massachusetts Chapter 766 Special Education School. The campus is located on 166 scenic acres in Walpole and offers recreational activities such as a state of the art gym, and walking trails for youth to explore. Our strength-based clinical services help youth learn to manage their behaviors while preparing them for life in the community.
The Home in Walpole is looking for Per-Diem Residential Counselors to make a difference in the lives of youth with trauma histories, developmental delays and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis.
How You'll Be Making a Difference
You'll be joining a dynamic team of professionals implementing our trauma-informed care model. Supporting youth in developing the skills they need to successfully transition home to families. Teaching age appropriate life skills, coping skills, and social skills through modeling, counseling, and other techniques. Participating in groups and activities designed to enhance youth growth and development. Participating in both on-site and off-site recreational/educational activities. Maintaining a safe and supportive environment.Qualifications
1 year prior experience working with youth. HS diploma or equivalency. A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of kids.Impact Corps
Residential Counselors can enroll in The Home’s Impact Corps - a fellowship learning track designed to provide adults with an opportunity to help serve vulnerable children and young adults while gaining industry experience in counseling, education, clinical roles, and leadership. Along the way, gain new training, hone your skills, and be eligible for bonuses adding up to $5,000 upon successful completion!
