**Congress & Events Manager**

**What you will do**
This role oversees in-person, virtual, and hybrid HCC meetings with a focus on execution, risk mitigation, technology integration, and compliance along with a local team and the assistance of an external agency. The position works closely with internal customers, external suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure exceptional meeting experiences, program alignment with organizational goals, and adherence to compliance
Role will manage Amgen's Meeting Technology tools like Cvent & C3, data analytics and spend reporting to enhance our meetings ecosystem.
**Objective:** Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence for Amgen's Global Meeting Management (GMM) program in Mexico through technology leadership, data-driven decision making, and process optimization.
+ **Championing Technology Leadership:** Manage Cvent & C3, drive automation initiatives, and ensure seamless data exchange between connected systems.
+ **Empowering Data-Driven Decisions:** Leverage analytics to enhance the GMM program, generate reports, and guide functional partners (Commercial, Finance, etc.) in budget allocation and meeting spend optimization.
+ **Streamlining Processes:** Provide oversight for HCC meetings, ensuring alignment with business values, compliance, and policies.
**Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
**Compliance and Risk Management:**
+ Guide Global Meetings Policy and HCC-specific compliance strategies.
+ Manage supplier processes, ensuring compliance in sourcing, contracting, and operations.
+ Collaborate with Corporate Audit and Compliance teams to mitigate risks.
**Technology Ownership:**
+ Manage Amgen's Meeting Technology platforms, including Cvent and C3 to ensure flawless system operation.
**Data & Analytics:**
+ Proactively find opportunities to improve efficiency to enhance the Meetings Program.
+ Design and implement performance dashboards to track key metrics, customer satisfaction, business performance, and operational efficiency.
+ Present insightful reports and analyses to the local Management Team
**Event Planning & Management**
+ Serve as SME and primary point of contact for partners on HCC meetings.
+ Develop and implement event strategies aligned with business objectives.
+ Plan and be responsible for all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, catering, transportation, along with the external agency
+ Hold regular status meetings with customers from pre-launch through program operation.
**Congress & Conference Coordination**
+ Manage the end-to-end planning of congresses along with the RAE (Responsible for Amgen Event, the agency and other customers.
+ Collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure seamless execution.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve raised issues from outsourced suppliers and internal teams.
**Budget & Performance Tracking**
+ Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
+ Track key performance indicators and generate post-event reports.
+ Analyze attendee feedback and implement improvements for future events.
**Training and Development:**
+ Conduct training for internal teams and suppliers to ensure effective meeting management.
+ Maintain SOPs for meeting processes and supplier interactions.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Doctorate degree OR
+ Master’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field & 2 years of experience in event planning, congress management, or a similar role as a people leader a big pharmaceutical company OR
+ Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field & 4 years of experience in event planning, congress management, or a similar role as a people leader in a big pharmaceutical company OR
+ Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience in event planning, congress management, or a similar role as a people leader in a big pharmaceutical company OR
+ High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience in event planning, congress management, or a similar role as a people leader in a big pharmaceutical company.
+ English – Business proficient.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Understanding of Amgen business planning process.
+ Leadership.
+ Change management.
+ Process mapping.
+ Excellent Communication, Strong organizational, Presentation and Negotiation skills.
+ Internal/External Relationship Building.
+ Supplier relationship management.

+ Ability to present sophisticated data to diverse groups.

+ Knowledge of SharePoint, Project Management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum or Six Sigma.
+ Knowledge of international event regulations and standard methodologies.
