This position is within the Collections Unit of the Collections and Accounts Receivable Management Division. POSITION DETAILS The Connecticut Careers Trainee Program is for a minimum of 1 year to a maximum of 3 years and is based on a how long it will take the candidate to meet the experience and training requirements of Revenue Agent 1. During this training program the candidate will learn the duties of the position which primarily involve doing tax collection over the phone and other related activities. These positions will be located in Hartford, and are full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with an alternative work schedule available after training is completed. The work is currently performed remotely. *Salary Note: During the first year of training, Connecticut Career Trainees with a Bachelor's degree earn $54,388 per year, and Connecticut Career Trainees with a Master's degree earn $56,354 per year. During the second year of training, the salary increases to $62,233 per year. Duties during the training period include, but are not limited to: + Logging into a phone system daily to take incoming calls to answer questions about bills, negotiating and setting up payment plan agreements; + Subsequently, review defaulted payment plan agreements to apply available collection tools to collect taxes from taxpayers through enforcement action; + Skip-tracing, placing liens and maintaining records in a collection case management system.
