Construction Accountant
Description For immediate consideration please see Tony Bilden Linked In contact into. We are in search of a diligent and meticulous Construction Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is central to our operations in the construction industry, where you will be tasked with managing various accounting duties such as handling accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger. Responsibilities: • Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are recorded correctly • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process • Manage and maintain the fixed asset accounting system • Generate and send out customer invoices as part of the billing process • Assist in the preparation of journal entries and ensure they are entered correctly • Conduct monthly and year-end closing processes diligently and accurately • Ensure all accounting tasks are performed in compliance with industry standards and company policies Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management • Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations • Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance • Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries • Skilled in Month End Close procedures • Expertise in Journal Entry Preparation • Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting • Experience in Billing procedures • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Must have the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
