The Job in a Nutshell:

The Construction Assistant Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day implementation and project management of new store construction, store expansions, store renovations, and any other department projects assigned.

Review submittalsFloor sink verificationReview construction progress for schedule and qualityApprove Operation and Maintenance ManualsApprove As-Built drawingsVerify all close out documentsOversee goods received, purchased and servicesIssue and monitor purchase orders and deliveries for fixtures, furnishings, and equipmentContract third party inspectionsParticipates in staff special projectsEstablish utility services accountsAcquire energy rebatesFollow up on warranty itemsElectronically store drawings on V-DriveManages special projects and meets required deadlinesTravel to store locations as required

Qualifications

Recipe for Success:

2 years of experience in Commercial Construction Management required OSHA 30 certification required BA in Architecture, Construction Management or Civil Engineering a plusSAP experience a plus Field experience required Retail construction management/experience a plus Knowledge of Commercial Construction Knowledge of ADA requirements Knowledge of UBC, NEC, UPC, UMC, IFC Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word and Excel required, including strong typing skillsStrong organizational skills and a strong track record for managing multiple projects and meeting required deadlinesAbility to effectively work with little or no supervisionStrong analytical/decision-making abilitiesAttention to detailCandidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills Must possess exceptional leadership qualities

Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to constantly use the computer for data entry and use of mouse.

Must be able to constantly sit, use fine motor manipulations, and reach outward for the duration of the work shift.

Must be able to frequently grip, bend, twist, and turn.

Must be able to occasionally walk, stand, squat, kneel, and reach above chest as needed.

 

Environmental Requirements:

Must be able to work occasionally with cold, heat, sharp tools and equipment, noise, contact stress, dust, fumes, and congested worksite.
