ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Coordinator to support our growing Transportation practice. This role is vital to ensuring the successful execution of construction projects by managing administrative tasks, maintaining strict adherence to deadlines and budgets, and upholding the standards outlined in contractual agreements. The ideal candidate will excel in organization, follow-through, and taking the initiative to drive project operations forward effectively. This position is an onsite position that will sit out of the client’s office in Sanford, FL.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Monitors the construction process. Ensures that projects are completed on time and according to specifications.Attends various project update conference calls with contractors, vendors and other stakeholders, providing input as needed.Maintains accurate records of documentation collected from multiple construction projects in various stages of development.Communicates and reports project progress and conflicts.Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to senior team members.Conducts occasional site visits relating to construction projects.Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company policies and procedures.

Skills & Knowledge

Fundamental to working knowledge of construction processes.Excellent time management and project scheduling skills.Fundamental knowledge of project management software preferred.Fundamental knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is preferred.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.Strong organizational and prioritization skills.Team-oriented with ability to work independently.Self-motivated with attention to detail.Problem-solving skills.Ability to shift attention from one task to another in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Skills and knowledge must be commensurate with required experience and job level

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GEDBachelor’s degree in construction management or relevant discipline preferred0-3 years of project coordination/administrative experienceValid driver’s license
