Job DescriptionAs our Construction Coordinator your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Safety, Health, and EnvironmentEnsure compliance with legal, environmental, occupational health, safety, and risk management standards and best practices.Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, enabling workers and contractors to operate within a controlled risk environment.Monitor and manage environmental impacts to meet statutory requirements.Ensure activities adhere to the Minerals Act, Regulations, OSHAS, and MHS Acts.Performance & DeliveryBuilding Integrity:Ensure buildings are inspected as per schedule.Contribute to the maintenance schedule and implement the schedule, ensuring timely completion of tasks.Act as a liaison between maintenance staff, contractors and management to facilitate communication and collaboration.Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and building codes.Oversee the procurement of materials and supplies needed for maintenance tasks, managing budgets effectively.Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and resolve any issues.Machinery and Equipment Management:Ensure safe, efficient, and proper use of all machinery, equipment, and infrastructure to meet health and safety requirements.Conduct daily inspections in areas of responsibility and take corrective action to prevent workplace incidents.Equipment Utilization and Production Control:Monitor and coordinate equipment utilisation, conducting inspections to ensure optimal use.Direct the civil services environment by monitoring and controlling processes to meet specified outputs.Manage and maintain sound traffic management in the area of responsibility.Coordinate, supervise, and plan civil services teams to achieve targets.Construction Targets and Reporting:Drive achievement of construction targets that can influence production, ensuring consistent equipment availability.Ensure effective procedures are in place for continuous equipment availability.Prepare and review detailed reports for shift handovers, minimising disruptions to operations.Work Ethics and Performance Improvement:Ensure work ethics encourage continuous improvement in worker performance.
This role is in Engineering & Maintenance HME/Plant (ENG) department on a band 8.7 level reporting to the Supervisor Civil Services B
QualificationsGrade 12/N3 (Technical Matric)N6 Civil Engineering AdvantageousCivil Trade Certificate (Red Seal)SA Drivers LicenceTechnical Knowledge
3–5 years of experience in construction or building maintenance, preferably in a mining environment.Strong understanding of safety, health, environmental, legislative, statutory, and regulatory requirements.In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.Familiarity with construction and maintenance equipment operation and troubleshooting.Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation measures.Additional InformationWho we are?
