Construction Director- Belgium  

To €180,000 DOE + Benefits    

Our client, a leading engineering & construction contractor with a reputation for delivering world-class projects across a diverse range of industries is urgently looking for an experienced and highly skilled Construction Director for a Hyperscale Data Centre project. Construction Director is responsible for overseeing and directing all construction activities within the company including strategic planning, resource management, risk mitigation, and strong leadership ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within the budget, and to the highest quality standards. This offer is available under the terms of a Belgian/UK contract, EU/Belgium resident permit holders are encouraged to apply.  

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:  

Reporting to the Project Director, you will provide strategic direction to the team for all construction activities, aligning them with the company’s long-term goals and project objectives.  

Oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they meet key milestones, timelines, and budgets.  

Lead and mentor construction managers, site managers, and project teams, promoting a collaborative and performance-driven culture ensuring all teams are motivated, and working to achieve project goals.  

Assist the MEP, CSA, and Logistics teams in developing area coordination plans for effective execution.  

Identify, assess, and manage potential risks and challenges across all projects and implement risk mitigation strategies to eliminate/minimize delays, cost overruns, and incidents.  

Review and approve budgets, cost estimates, and procurement strategies ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.  

Champion a strong safety culture across all sites ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations by conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.  

Act as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and partners on construction-related matters, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction.  

Ensure all construction work meets quality standards, project specifications, and client expectations addressing any issues immediately.  

Oversee the selection and management of subcontractors, ensuring they meet project timelines and quality requirements.  

Ensure comprehensive reporting and documentation for all construction activities, including progress reports, financial updates, risk assessments, and final handover documentation.  

Degree in Electrical, Building Services or Construction Management.  

15+ years of experience in construction management with focus on Data Centre projects.  

Strong leadership and management abilities, with experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams.  

In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, project management principles, and industry best practices.  

Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.  

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams.
