Overview The Director of Construction will manage the financial, business development aspects, and day to day construction of electrical power transmission, distribution (overhead and underground) substation construction projects. This position provides leadership for both technical and administrative functions within the electric line of business and will be responsible for overseeing simultaneous projects and ensuring we are completing the projects on time, within budget, and maintaining high quality. Responsibilities Lead and direct business unit operations staff in the effective and safe execution of projects. Develop proposals and lead construction estimating process for large infrastructure jobs, ensuring competitive and accurate responses to RFPs. Manage team to meet budgets and schedules and ensure customer satisfaction. Make staffing decisions, train new employees, and develop employee performance. Prepare and present detailed construction cost estimates and documentation. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology, Engineering, or a related field of study. (or equivalent work history) 15 years of total relevant experience, including previous supervisory experience. Experience managing divisional or department budget. Experience managing projects to completion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and upper management. Ability to read work prints.
