Job Summary:
The Construction Engineer is responsible for overseeing the technical and operational aspects of the building construction project. They will work closely with the project management team to ensure that the construction activities adhere to the project's design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications to identify potential issues and develop solutions. Coordinate with the project management team to develop and implement a comprehensive construction schedule, ensuring that the project stays on track. Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with the project's quality standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and the proper execution of their work. Identify and address any technical or operational challenges that arise during the construction process, proposing and implementing appropriate corrective measures. Collaborate with the Bureau Veritas team to conduct regular site inspections, testing, and audits to verify the quality and integrity of the construction work. Maintain detailed records of construction progress, including daily reports, change orders, and project documentation. Communicate effectively with the project management team, client, and other stakeholders to provide updates on the project's status and address any concerns or issues. Ensure that the construction activities adhere to Bureau Veritas' standards and best practices, including those related to sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental protection.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction engineering, preferably in the residential or commercial building sector. Demonstrated expertise in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical and operational challenges. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards in the Philippines. Proficient in the use of construction management software and tools.
