Job Details Division: Nucor Data Systems Location: San Bernardino , CA, United States | Onsite (travel required) Other Available Locations: Los Angeles, CA | Onsite (travel required) Compensation: $99,000 - $121,000 (based on experience) Basic Job Functions: + Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for potential projects. + Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and develop accurate estimates. + Evaluate and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to determine best fit for project needs. + Prepare and submit bid proposals, budgets, and cost estimates for data center projects. + Maintain an updated database of unit costs and construction cost data. + Review and interpret construction documents, specifications, and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities. + Participate in project kick-off meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on project scope and budget. + Monitor and track project costs throughout the pre-construction phase to ensure alignment with initial estimates. + Provide value engineering recommendations to clients to optimize project costs without compromising quality. + Assist in the development and maintenance of estimating tools and software. + Prepare reports and presentations for management and clients, detailing project estimates and cost breakdowns. + Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and market conditions to provide accurate and competitive estimates. + Other duties as assigned. [[cust_safetyState]] Minimum Qualifications: + 5 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry or comparable industry. + Ability to read and interpret construction and fabrication drawings. + Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis. + Proficiency in labor estimation. + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and construction estimating software. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. + Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in cost estimating. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. + Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations. + Ability to build solid relationships with team members, vendors, and customers. + Ability to travel as required. Preferred Qualifications: + Data center sector industry experience. + Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. + Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, preferred/ SolidWorks, Revit + Certification in estimating or project management (e.g., PMP, AACE). + Experience in the data center industry, with knowledge of specific requirements and challenges associated with data center construction.
