Job Title: Construction Estimator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator who will be responsible for setting up construction project estimates to comply with the company's standards. The ideal candidate will read and understand plans and specifications for a variety of projects, prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, and provide accurate quantity take-offs of materials necessary to construct projects as presented in plans and specifications.

ResponsibilitiesSet up construction project estimates to comply with the company's estimating standards.Read and understand plans and specifications for a variety of projects.Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements.Provide accurate quantity take-off of materials necessary to construct the project.Analyze labor and equipment necessary to perform portions of the work and convey this information to management for go/no-go decisions.Provide accurate analysis of the project scope to convey this information to the assigned pursuit team for bid strategy and pricing.Effectively use company-provided estimating software to ensure accurate and complete bid and budgetary pricing.Identify the types of subcontractors necessary to complete any given project, understanding the work scope and location.Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating pricing.Cultivate and foster relationships with subcontractors, both new and existing.Interact clearly with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and fellow associates in all forms of communications.Evaluate, coordinate, and collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure they have included a complete scope of work.Work actively with the business development team to design successful bid strategies.Interact effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors after the bid to obtain as much information as possible.Maintain current cost data and update estimating databases for accuracy.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.Track and report key metrics to the Director of Estimating as required.Perform other duties as required.Essential SkillsEstimation skillsExperience in commercial constructionAdditional Skills & QualificationsB.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or commensurate work experience is preferred.2+ years of experience in commercial construction.Work Environment

This is an in-office position within a well-established family-owned and operated commercial construction firm. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $92000.00
